Cycling from Agadir to Tanger per bus and then to Tarifa, Spain per ferry
I was Mentally Beaten by Morocco so I returned to Europe ...
2019-06-13
I liked it in Agadir since it has quite a lot to offer.
That has all (and only) to do with the presence of the beach and boulevard, and with that viewpoint at that mountain.
The town itself is ofcourse regular moroccon.
It can not at all compete to any european city in any matter.
This country has not even one aspect that I like.
Not even one aspect that I can be neutral about.
Morocco has beaten me ...
And then, Morocco is not even at all representative for what I will have to face (for a very long time)
if I would continue cycling further south.
So I decided to leave Morocco (and so Africa).
I bought a ticket to take the nightbus to Tanger.
From there I would take the ferry to return to Spain.
The trip to Tanger would be a 14 hour nighttrip leaving at 22h30.
I had prepared myself to have my ereader and laptop at hand.
But I managed to sleep some time(s) and I read an ebook and ate and drank somewhat.
Time flew by and so did the kilometers and in "no time" I was on my own wheels again in Tanger.
I cycled to and through the centre of Tanger were it once more was very steep.
After a long search I found a shop were I could change my Dirhams to euros.
I kept Dh 500 for the ticket and to buy something to eat somewere in Tanger.
And went on to the harbour to arrange my "flight" to Tarifa in Spain.
Then I returned into town were I got a last tajine with the remaining Dirhams.
It was very cheap and also very small 💭.
To compensate for that the lemonade was of a fluorescent type.
I could only hope I would not be fluorescent that night anymore.
Attracting to many women in the dark at a camping can be quite tiresome 😇.
Trying to make a living by selling handkerchiefs, cigarettes, cigarettelighters and candybars.
And in the meantime the
OnTheRoad 4.0 🖱️
made some selfies 🤳.
Then I cycled to the port to get to the FRS ferry.
This ferry looked a lot faster then the one I had from Algeciras !
And just as important to me : it has an outside deck.
But then I was informed that this fast ferry was not the one for me ...
This one would leave one hour later then mine and I was not in the mood to wait for that.
Then another ferry arrived.
The same type of ferry as I was on before would cross me over the Strait of Gibraltar to Spain.
The passengers disembarked.
I boarded, secured the OnTheRoad 4.0 and went upstairs to the canteen.
Then Groundcontrol gave permission to Major Tom to depart.
So I walked over to the ship's bridge and instructed the captain to hurry 😎.
I drank the last remains of my last bottle of Moroccon citron lemonade.
It costed only Dh 6 for a liter (€ 0,60) and contained only little calories.
But I think it also contained a lot of artificial ingredients.
Luckily I couldn't read the arabic declaration about that 🙈.
Then we took off and the jetengines were really pushing.
So here and today my Morocco and Africa plan ended !
I did not like Morocco at all and that is because of the mentality of the Moroccon people.
And because of my own mentality ...
Bye bye Morocco, I will remember you ...
I arrived in Tarifa, Spain and ofcourse had a look there.
And guess what ?!
There was no garbage lying and flying around !!!
But there were women around !
Without headscarf !
Then I left town (partly pushing !) and was in the province of Cadiz.
This is the part of the south of Spain that is close to the Atlantique Ocean.
And that's why it is more expensive here (I suppose).
It was now about 16h00 and I didn't know which camping I would or could choose for.
That should not be a real problem since I had 4 cheaper ones as poi (point of interest) in my gps within the next 20 kms.
Plus some non-cheaper ones as backup.
However it could be I had to return from the last one to the first one
if I didn't want to stay on the farest 3 ones 😁.
